The big day for Amitabh, ShahRukh and Salman…

I don’t remember there being a more ‘event’ful day in Bollywood over the past few days… You remember what all was lined up for today, don’t you? Well for those who don’t, then it’s Amitabh Bachchan’s HAPPY BIRTHDAY today!!! Though the birthday isn’t all that happy because of his mother’s illness, but the ‘angry young man’ of the industry has just turned 65!!!
Though there isn’t a strand of gray hair on his head (wonder how many times does he dye his hair in a week!), age is taking its toll on AB Sr.
With the serious illness that loomed on his head last year this time, the whole country had mourned and prayed for him… and this year, we pray for his mom’s health… she’s supposed to be in a critical condition and is currently hospitalized…
Though the 65-year-old man might not celebrate today, the two Khans will! You guessed it right people.. It’s ShahRukh and Salman Khan eating into each other’s celebrations as SRK celebrates the launch of his book ‘SRK – Still Reading Khan’ and Salman dances away to glory in the Jaaneman bash!!!

Is Lily Allen Engaged?!

Although she once said that she had no plans to get married, reports are surfacing that Lily Allen is engaged to her boyfriend Sam Cooper.
A friend of the singer said:

"Everyone's so proud of Lily. She's made a list of how to get through what can only be described as a horrible tragedy. This is the most awful situation in the world and she's aware that nothing can take away the hurt she feels at losing her and Sam's baby.
Last week, Sam told Lily he can't live without her and wants to go ahead with the wedding plans. It was always the plan that they'd marry at some point but this has given her a major boost.
Lily's been in a dark place but she's slowly rebuilding from the shock. She told Sam she needs time to heal but she's not letting herself die of a broken heart.
He's been very supportive but he's hurting like hell as too, so they had a long heart-to-heart and have planned a holiday somewhere quiet.
Lily's a fighter and says if she can get through this, she can get through anything.

We hope she takes the time she needs to heal. If this is true, we wish her the best of luck!

29 Trapped miners died in New Zealand....

As 29 trapped miners have remained underground since Friday brought on by massive gas explosion in Greymouth, New Zealand, friends and family learned on Monday that the miners could not have survived a second explosion.
And now the town is devastated!
About 200 people attended a vigil for the miners, including Opposition leader Phil Goff, Greymouth Mayor Tony Kokshoorn and Pike River chief executive Peter Whittall. Daniel Rockhouse, who was rescued from the mine on Friday, also attended.
Pope Benedict XVI also sent his regards. He expressed condolences and sympathy for the tragic event and remembered the men in a special way in his prayers. He invoked a blessing to give people courage and strength.
As Pike River Coal chief Whittall told families about the second explosion, they were inconsolable.
Kokshoorn said:

"They told us there was a massive explosion and there was no way there were any survivors. We thought we were going to get some good news.
They just dropped to the floor. It's anger, as simple as that. It's just gut-wrenching. This is our darkest hour."

So sad. Our thoughts go out to the families.

Joe Jonas and Ashley Greene: Happy as Ever!

Following the announcement by Demi Lovato that she's seeking treatment for an abundance of personal issues, Joe Jonas and Ashley Greene have found themselves under unexpected fire.
Fans of the 18-year old singer initially jumped to unfortunate conclusions and blamed Demi's ex for dating Greene so soon after he and Lovato broke up. The criticism has since died down, allowing these two to focus on their relationship.
Which, sources confirm, is going extremely well.

E! News quotes a friend that says Ashley's parents have met Joe and simply adore him. Look for this couple to spend the holidays together.

"They are happy as ever right now," says the pal.

And, hey, no signs yet that Greene is corrupting Jonas in any way. So that's good.

Among the topics Kelly tackles in the interview is the old rumor that she carried on an affair with fellow anchor Brit Hume. Megyn says of this story:
