Demi Lovato Update: Sources Deny Drugs, Raise Questions Over Deceased Friend

"Demi is not in treatment for drugs. She is there to deal with emotional and physical issues she's been battling her whole life."
These are the words of family friend, shooting down recent rumors that Demi Lovato entered a rehab facility due to a problem with cocaine and alcohol.
So, is there a specific issue that forced this young singer to leave her Sorth American tour and seek help? Possibly, reports Star Magazine

In July, an aspiring musician named David Osborn died in a tubing accident. An insider claims Lovato had grown close to the rocker, who she met at a mutual friend's party in December. Soon after his passing, Demi Tweeted:

"Can't wait to see you again in heaven... Texas isn't the same without you... RIP Dave Osborn."

While it's possible the death of a loved one played a role in Demi's demise - which culminated in a physical confrontation with a backup dancer in Peru - the same source that denies this troubled star used drugs also tells People her downfall was related to a lot more than just one incident.

"This is a girl with emotional problems who has been fighting demons her whole life... She is determined to get better."

Miley Cyrus’s on/off boyfriend has reportedly spent a night out with a pretty blonde in his native Australia, leading to reports that he and the Hannah Montana star have split for good. Sydney’s Daily Telegraph newspaper says 20-year-old Liam partied with Yolanda Vendy at Melbourne’s Derby Day horse racing event. It reported he “looked single” as he enjoyed his day with Yolanda, and according to insiders he “was definitely back on the market after splitting from Cyrus.” Only last week 17-year-old Cyrus’s parents split up. Vendy is said to be a Melbourne-based teacher and an occasional promotions model. Asked if she and Liam were mates, Yolanda reportedly said, “If that’s what you want to call it.” After the races, Liam and Yolanda went to an after party together called Derby After Dark, then onto the Eve nightclub in Melbourne. Liam would not talk about whether he and Miley are still an item. All he would say was she is in the US, working.

Keira Knightley and Eva Mendes had to abandon the red carpet at the Rome Film Festival after protesters stormed the event. The two actresses were promoting their new movie Last Night at the festival when demonstrators flooded the premiere because of the Italian government’s decision to cut arts funding. The film’s showing was delayed by almost two hours as bodyguards helped the pair safely move through the crowds of people. The movie’s director, Massy Tadjedin, used a microphone to talk to the protesters. She said: “We are pleased to renounce the red carpet and support you.” However the culture minister Sandro Bondi said the demonstration was ‘unjustified’.

Harry Potter star Tom Felton said he ‘lost his childhood’ to the popular movie series. Felton, now 23, has played the role of evil wizard Draco Malfoy for ten years and said he spent most of his childhood years in the role. Speaking to UK newspaper Daily Mail, he said: “One thing that people keep on saying to me is that the wealth and the fame must have made up for missing out on my childhood. “But the idea of money – putting a price on your childhood – is ridiculous. You will never get those years back and you can’t put a price on them. And to me, fame is not a positive thing. “The idea of being famous is a lot better than the reality. It’s fantastic when you go to premieres and people cheer you, but it’s not real. And it’s totally not my approach to get my name on a club door just because I can.”
