Prince William and Kate Middleton's official engagement pictures were retouched, it has emerged.
A palace spokesperson has confirmed that there was 'minimal' alterations made to the images before they were released.
The adjustments related to light balance and contrast, reports the Associated Press.
The 2 pictures were taken by famed photographer Mario Testino. 
In one image, William and Kate, both 28, are seen cuddling up to each other lovingly.
The second picture, below, shows the couple in a more formal mood at Clarence House.
Prince William proposed to Kate in Kenya with Diana, Princess Of Wales' sapphire engagement ring.
They will get married on 29 April 2011.
